Event 1:
The Crow's World Massacre

Waaaagh! Grimtoof fell upon Larsa with such ferocity that it didn't manage to send a single broadcast for aid.

By the time its loss was noticed, Sector Command assumed that its known mutant population had revolted, and sent a small Imperial Navy flotilla along with elements of the Imperial Guard and Scions.  They stood little chance.

Even as they were overwhelmed, the few remaining frigates fled toward Crow's World, intent on mustering what defence they can...

Day 1

Arriving just ahead of the Ork fleet, Vallorn Tar's Salamanders receive a distress call from Corvid Tertius.  Advance parties of Orks are cracking open bunkers and slaughtering the civilians sheltering inside.

The Salamanders incurred heavy losses trying to save the first two bunkers.  A well-positioned squad of Eliminators help slow the Orks, allowing the Salamanders to evacuate the third bunker.

It is small consolation in the face of overwhelming casualties.

About the Scenario: This was a tough prospect for the Space Marines.  The Orks started in multiple locations, meaning they were able to overwhelm the defenders who were trying to defend all shelters at once.

Scenario Bonus: Each shelter lost gave the Orks a card to force an Imperial Morale Check re-roll in the final game.

Each Shelter saved gave the Imperials the ability to automatically pass a Morale Check in the final game.

Throughout the Crow's World system, the Imperial fleet were faring better than those on the planet. The Ork pursuit of the Antares from the Larsa system had been hasty.  The force that assaulted Crow's World, whilst still immense, was far from being the tide that swamped Larsa's meagre defences.

Torn between continuing the fight in space and launching their assault on the surface, Grimtoof's tentative control over the Waaagh! was exposed.  The Imperial fleet was withdrawing in good order, and able to isolate and destroy Ork squadrons in carefully maneuvered traps.

Emerging from the warp dangerously close to the planet, a lone Space Marines Battle Barge unleashed every weapon it had into the closely packed Ork ships.

As it turned away, armour red hot from contact with Crow's World's upper atmosphere, the Battle Barge revealed banks of drop pods launching from its underside.

The Crimson Fists had come to Crow's World.

Corvid Majoris was completely unprepared for the Gargants that emerged from the waste fields.  The blistering firepower released by the Ork god-machines reduced the city's walls to scrap in under an hour.

Frantic transmissions from the city in its final hours spoke of unprecedented cruelty

At the defence line, the Imperials had nowhere to run.  With the toxic river at their backs, they are left with no choice but to sell their lives dearly.

The leading Orks disintegrate under the sheer weight of fire.  Gaping holes are

Pedro Kantor and Vallorn'Tar have escaped the planet.  Both feel the guilt of leaving their Guard allies behind on the planet, and the burden of needing to exact vengeance

The Imperial Navy and Astartes warships have fled the system.  Aldor Jax and his Deltan Volitants, and Colonel Zelezhov and his Vostroyans have been listed as killed in action.

Grimtoof stands victorious over the ashes of Crows World.  His leadership of the Waaaagh! is secure - at least for now.

Smashtoof's success in the final battle has increased his standing among the greenskins.  Krowngrabba has revealed that he is not above bribing other Warbosses.  And Krookrippa has his own scheme....
